RANCHI: The Jharkhand Government has approved road and water supply projects for Jamshedpur and Ranchi. The projects are expected to cost around. Rs.260 crore. According to official sources, Chief Minister Arjun Munda has also approved a road widening project from Kathal More to Argora Chowk and from Kathitand to Pithoria. A sum of Rs.45 crore has been approved for land acquisition for the project. The State Government has also chalked out a rehabilitation programme for the land losers and has a package of Rs.33.75 crore planned for them. To begin soon According to official sources, both projects will take off in the current fiscal year and are expected to be ready by 2012-13. In the budget session, which begins on February 28, the State Government will elaborate on the projects. The Chief Minister has also approved an estimate of Rs.134.43 crore for water supply schemes in Jamshedpur. As per the notification, this project will supply water to a large number of areas in Jugsalai, Mango, Adityapur and Ghorabandha. After being granted approval by the State Government, these projects will be sent to the Central Urban Development Ministry for approval.
