Woman succumbs to burns

TIRUPATTUR: A 38-year-old woman succumbed to burns on Friday, which she reportedly sustained after her sari caught fire while cooking on Thursday evening.
According to the Kurusilapet police, Kanaka, wife of Kumaresan, of Andiappanur village in Vaniyambadi taluk, lit the gas stove for boiling water and her sari had caught fire. She sustained severe burns and was rushed to the Tirupattur Government Hospital, from where she was referred to the Government Vellore Medical College Hospital.
She sustained 95 per cent burns and died at the hospital on Friday afternoon.
