DEHRA DUN: Senior Congress leaders and MLAs from Uttarakhand have urged Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Chief Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank to order a CBI probe into the huge assets “created” by Swami Ram Dev within a short span of about ten years. “The sudden steep hike in the Baba's assets in India and abroad and his meddling in politics with irresponsible allegations hint that he might be playing into the hands of anti-India forces,” alleged four MLAs -- Kishore Upadhyay, Dinesh Aggarwal, Jot Singh Gunsola and Kedar Singh Rawat -- at a press conference here on Friday. Mr. Upadhyay also wanted the authorities to inquire into the Minimum Wages Act and optimal working conditions laws violations in the huge commercial set-ups of the Baba in Haridwar and other places. “The Baba seems to be an agent of the BJP-RSS combine and targeting the Congress leaders. That is why he is getting ‘clean' chits from the BJP Government in the State despite violating labour and other laws,” Mr. Aggarwal said. The Congress leaders added that they would raise the issue of the Baba's assets in the State Assembly.
