CHENNAI: Cash and some gold jewellery were reported stolen from a house in Thoraipakkam on Friday. According to police sources, Jayaraman (50) of Pandian Nagar, who took ill, was admitted to a hospital in Royapuram.
His wife Pachaiyammal (46), who went to the hospital and returned home in the evening, found the main door lock broken.
A sum of Rs. 50,000 in cash and 10 sovereigns of jewellery kept in the almirah were found missing.
Two persons allegedly attacked a man over a wordy duel at Kotturpuram on Saturday, according to police sources.
The victim, who suffered a serious cut injury, was admitted to a private hospital where his condition was said to be stable.
Shanmugam (35) of Kotturpuram was discussing with China (30) and Charles (31) about a property deal on Canal Tank Road when they attacked him following a heated argument, police said.
