Focus on industry-institute interface

Week-long meeting organised by Karaikal Polytechnic College

KARAIKAL: Strengthening industry-institute interface was the focus of the “Industry Institute Academia Meet (IiAM 2011)” organised at the Karaikal Polytechnic College recently.
The week-long meeting facilitated by the Industry Institute Partnership Cell (IIPC) of Karaikal Polytechnic College brought together industry heads on a common platform to create an industry-institute linkage.
Prasad Rebala, senior vice president, port (operations), MARG, stressed the significance of such an interaction between industry and technical institutions of learning for the betterment of students. R.M.Bairavan, Managing Director, Meirs Pharma, called upon the students to take up project works from industrial arena.
D.Sandanasamy, Principal, Karaikal Polytechnic College, lauded the initiative of the IIPC, and expressed his gratitude to the All India Council of Technical Education, New Delhi for sanctioning a grant of Rs.7.6 lakh for setting up IIPC. The programme witnessed participation from five departments, with each department hosting a technical session, presided over by resource persons from industry.
