Man trapped in elevator, killed

NEW DELHI: A 20-year-old man was killed after he was trapped in an elevator in R.K. Puram here on Sunday.

The incident took place around 11 a.m. when Haider Ali, who operated the elevator at M.S. flats in Sector 13 R.K. Puram, got stuck after it purportedly developed a snag. The police and fire brigade personnel took more than an hour to cut the doors and pull him out. He was declared brought dead at a nearby hospital.

“Preliminary investigation suggested that the elevator had developed a snag. Haider had gone to fix it when he got trapped,” said a senior police officer.
