Letters to the Editor
The thrilling World Cup cricket match between India and England that ended in a tie on Sunday is perhaps a just reward for both teams. The fact that the match came down to the very last delivery is testament to the unstinting effort and commitment of both teams. At a time when there exists a legion of one-day international (ODI) sceptics, the game came as a veritable shot in the arm. Pradyut Hande, Mumbai World Cup history will record the thrilling match as a memorable one. It was so closely fought that none can grudge the final outcome, patriotic fervour not withstanding. The last ball promised all three possible results — a win for India, victory for England and a tie. What a wonderful game. R. Saradha, Chennai
