Tirupur: The Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC), under Union Ministry of Textiles, will take a textile delegation for the ‘Interselection Fair' in Paris scheduled to be held from April 5 to 7, according to AEPC senior director D.G. Reddy.
He told reporters here that the textile exporters from Tirupur and its hinterland, who wished to attend the fair and display their product portfolio, should contact the AEPC office here at the earliest (0421-2232634 and 2232631) as the participation would be on first-cum-first-serve basis. The Council had reserved a separate India pavilion with limited number of booths at the fair arena for distribution to the members.
The cost per booth of nine sq metre would be Rs. 2.3 lakh.
The exporters were entitled for market development assistance according to the norms of the Union Government.
Mr. Reddy said that the Paris fair held a unique position in the European sector since it was recognised as a priority show for apparels and fabrics.
Moreover, the show acted as an ideal platform for both exhibitors as they could develop new customers, strengthen the business relations and analyse the market needs for forging a better B2B relationship, he added.
He pointed out that import of readymade garments in France stood at $19.79 billion in 2009.
