CUDDALORE: Unidentified persons broke open the door and barged into the house of former panchayat president Ambalavanan at Murugesan Nagar near Ammapet in Chidambaram and robbed gold jewellery at knife point in the early hours of Tuesday. Police said that the burglars entered the house when Ambalavanan's wife Asodha (54) and daughters-in-law Seethalakshmi (26) and Logavathi (24) were asleep.
