NMGB heist case: verdict on March 5

Kanhangad: The Hosdurg First Class Magistrate Court (II) will pronounce its verdict on the North Malabar Gramin Bank (NMGB) burglary case on March 5.

Nearly 33 kg of gold ornaments and cash totalling Rs 6.75 lakh were stolen from the Periye branch of the bank on June 17, 2009.

A team led by the then Deputy .Superintendent of Police, Kanhangad, P Habeeb Rahman had made the vital breakthrough in the case.

Fourteen persons were identified as accused – Velayudhan, Rameshan, Krishnamurthy, Chinna Murugan, Periya Murugan, Anna Durai, Palani, Haneefa, Murugan, Anjali, Sekhar, Shankar, Muniyan and Sarojan.
