Kozhikode: Ahwan Sebastian, veteran theatre artiste who donned commendable roles for popularising amateur and professional drama, died here on Wednesday evening. He was 84. A contemporary of dramatists K.T. Mohammed, Vincent Samuel and Vikraman Nair, Sebastian was a familiar face at drama venues till recently. He had been active in the field since 1970. As a talented actor, director, musician and scriptwriter, Sebastian was a familiar face to Malayalam movie buffs in the 1980s. Like Balan K. Nair and Kuthiravattom Pappu, he was absorbed by the film industry. But Sebastian was always passionate of being an ardent supporter of drama and found pleasure in organising such events. He headed a theatre group, Musical Theatre,' besides publishing a book, ‘Simhasanam.'
