‘Leave the students alone'

The agitations in the city have definitely spread uncertainty among students and parents. It is unfortunate that the politicians are using students as pawns to lead agitations, burn buses, destroy public properties and paralyse daily life. The politicians and political parties should delink students from politics and allow them to concentrate on studies. No democracy can grow at the cost of students.

Agitation unjustified

Till a few days ago, the student groups played the spoilsport, and now it is the turn of the politicians. Those who proclaim to solve problems are actually creating new ones. The BIE is not to be blamed. Any postponement of exams means loss of a few precious days for those preparing for national-level competitive exams like IIT-JEE and AIEEE. I hope student unions do not fall prey to the unjustified agitation.

Earnest appeal

I welcome the view of Mr. E.Srinivasu Charyulu published in these columns, that the English exam be conducted on the afternoon of 9th March. But then, CBSE students do not have an alternative. I would also request Prof. Kodandaram to postpone the stir of Chalo Assembly to May, if at all he is concerned about the future of the students.

State must ensure peace

Already, we have lost valuable time by the way of bandhs. I request the educated and the political leaders of Telangana who have been waiting for 50 years, to postpone all the agitations by mere 50 days for our sake. On the other hand, the government must take all the necessary steps for the students to write their exams in peaceful atmosphere.

Will it serve the purpose?

Postponing the exam is not realistic as it will affect students preparing for competitive exams. The leaders must postpone the stir taking in account the future of all the students. What is the use of blaming others when leaders of our own region do not care for our future? What cause does the movement uphold when it is not in the interests of people?

Students at crossroads

Political leaders should keep in mind that over 20 lakhs students are gearing up to write various exams including all-India entrance tests in the coming months. Already students have lost their valuable revision classes at fag end of their academic year due to frequent strikes.

It is a well known fact that, the present political turmoil is not going to settle in day or two owing to its complexity in nature. My appeal to the politicians is to desist from agitations for couple of months keeping in mind the plight of student community.

Prasanna Kumar A.S.

Leaders, what about your children?

Children should not be made to pay the price for the decisions taken by politicians and so called protectors of Telangana honour. While children of these politicians are either well-educated or are getting educated in other States or countries, they wouldn't mind others' children being killed or suffering due to agitations. There is a legal and political system in place for matters to be resolved in an appropriate manner. If students are not allowed to write the exams, the leaders should be prepared to face the wrath of the students and parents.

Tough time for students, parents

Having a professor as member, the T-JAC should understand the plight of the students and the amount of mental stress they are currently undergoing.

The ongoing agitation for the Telangana development is in fact worsening the state of affairs because it is affecting the education of students belonging to this region only. Will T-JAC members take the blame for suicides and attempts for suicide resulting from this situation?
