Unable to pay fee, student ends life

SANGAREDDY: K. Shankar Reddy (19), a native of Nalgonda district and studying first year ECE at a private engineering college in Patancheru, committed suicide by consuming pesticide in his room. According to Patancheru Circle Inspector K. Kistaiah, Shankar Raddy had first joined a private engineering college in Meerpet of Ranga Reddy district under management quota and then shifted to the college he was studying in currently. On Thursday, there was reportedly an argument when he phoned his parents to pay the college fee. According to sources, the parents expressed their inability to pay the fee. Worried over this, he consumed poison and committed suicide late in the night. Mr. Kishtaiah stated there was no harassment in the college. A case was registered at Patancheru police station and investigation is on. The body was sent to Gandhi hospital for post mortem.
