PR, MIM seek one seat each
HYDERABAD: Praja Rajyam president K. Chiranjeevi and MIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi met Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy in connection with the Legislative Council elections from Assembly. Sources said the two leaders reportedly sought one seat each for their party candidate.
The MIM now has one member who will retire on completion of four-year term. The MIM has seven members in the Assembly and the PRP 18, of whom two are sailing with former MP Y. S. Jaganmohan Reddy.
The Chief Minister told reporters that the whole issue was being considered by the Congress high command. The Congress too needed their support in the Council elections (on March 17 to fill 10 vacancies), he added.
