To the rescue: Firemen dousing flames in the spinning mills in Kadapa on Monday. KADAPA: Cotton stocks and machinery was gutted in a fire in Rayalaseema Spinning Mills, owned by Telugu Desam Party Kadapa constituency in charge K. Sivananda Reddy in Kadapa Industrial Estate on Sunday night. In the fire, said to have been caused by electrical short circuit, cotton bales worth Rs. 4 lakh and blower machinery worth Rs. 5 lakh were reduced to ashes, according to Mr. Sivananda Reddy. Fire tenders rushed to the spinning mills and put off the flames. Spinning mills workers were working on spindles last night when the fire accident occurred.
