One killed, 4 hurt in accident

TAMBARAM: One man was killed and four others were injured in a multiple vehicle collision in Guduvanchery on Grand Southern Trunk Road on Wednesday evening. Police identified the victim as M.Kanagaraj (28) of Vasudevanallur in Tirunelveli district.

Krishnan (67) was driving a share autorickshaw from Maraimalai Nagar towards Tambaram. He brought the vehicle to a halt as a private bus stopped suddenly ahead of his auto. A sand-laden lorry rammed into the share auto that was sandwiched between the two heavy vehicles. Kanagaraj, who was sitting in the front seat, died on the spot.
