Rescued leopard released inside MTR

It fell into a dry well near Gudalur

The leopard which was rescued from a well at Selukaadu near Gudalur on Thursday night.
Udhagamandalam: A leopard, which fell into a dry well near Gudalur, was rescued late on Thursday night by the forest staff and fire and rescue services personnel.
Forest sources told The Hindu that on Thursday evening the Forest Department was informed that a leopard was struggling to get out of a 45-feet-deep well in a private tea garden at Selukaadu near Gudalur.
Tranquilised
With attempts to bring it out with the help of ropes and a ladder not bearing fruit, the male leopard aged about two years was shot with a tranquiliser gun and lifted out of the well.
It was kept in a cage for monitoring its condition and was released inside the Mudumalai Tiger Reserve on Friday.
