“Women excel in almost all fields”

Staff Reporter

Nagercoil: The Government should take necessary steps to ensure the welfare of rights of women in different parts of the State, said the secretary of district Human Rights Commission, S.S. Sisly Rosasly, Mary.

Speaking in a function organised for International Women's Day at James College of Engineering at Navalcadu near Nagercoil on Tuesday, she said discrimination against women was still prevailing. Gone were the days when women were confined to kitchen. “Now they excel in almost all fields on a par with men.”

Though there was lot of preference in legislation owing to lack of awareness among women folk they could not avail it. Vice-Principal of the college M. Stephen and other faculty members participated in the programmes.
