HYDERABAD: Students of Osmania University under the banner of OU Vidyarthi Aikya Vedika organised a bandh on Friday in support of Sampath Naik, a Ph.D student, who attempted suicide consuming pesticide at the ‘Million March' on Thursday. It was peaceful except a few minor incidents. Students who went in a procession to Administrative building damaged the window panes of the Dean, College Development Council's Office (CDC) and also another glass window at Controller of Examinations office that were opened. They raised slogans in support of a separate Telangana and asked the employees to cooperate with the bandh call given by them. The Dean, Students Welfare, Prof. Laxmaiah said that the bandh was peaceful. Meanwhile, OU conducted MA and M.Sc exams for foreign students who failed to appear during the boycott call given by the Telangana activists. Out of the 170 students 117 attended the exam held at ACM College in Amberpet. The MBA will be conducted on Saturday.
