GUNTUR: Joint Collector A. Sarath has instructed officials to expedite acquisition of land along the National Highway - 5 to facilitate its expansion. He said there were a few problems in land acquisition in Narasaraopet division, which should be overcome by taking urgent measures. Addressing a meeting of officials of the Revenue Department here, Mr. Sarath said stringent action would be taken against those who neglect their duties in passing awards and paying compensation to the public for giving their lands. He would monitor the situation and see to it that the work was not hampered by actions of derelict officials. The process should be completed by this month-end, he said. DRO M. Venkateswarulu, Narasaraopet RDO K. Srinivasulu and NHAI officials were present.
