dated March 15, 1961: Exhibition concludes

The All-India Industrial and Commercial Exhibition, which was a centre of attraction in Madras city for the last eight weeks, concluded on March 14. Over a million people, including hundreds of villagers and tourists from the mofussil and the neighbouring States, visited the exhibition on the lsland Grounds organised by the Southern India Chamber of Commerce as part of its golden jubilee celebrations. At a function held under the presidentship of Mr. Bishnuram Medhi, Governor, in the Exhibition ground, prizes were distributed to the stalls adjudged best under various categories.
