C.Jaishankar

RAMANATHAPURAM: Two persons were murdered in two different incidents on Monday.

P. Murthy (38) was murdered allegedly by A. Naveed Ismayil (20) of Thayumanavar Street here.

Sources said a wordy quarrel broke out between the two when the latter confronted the former for reckless driving. Irked over his remarks, Ismayil suddenly stabbed him. Murthy died on the way to the government hospital. Naveed Ismayil had been secured by the police.

As soon as the news spread about the murder of Murthy, a large number of relatives and friends thronged the hospital, where his body was kept for post mortem. Security was tightened to prevent backlash. In the other incident, S. Thiyagarajan (40) of M. Pudukulam of Kovilangulam police limit was murdered by his son Saththiaraj (15). He smashed Thiyagarajan's head with a big stone.
