United Stand: TDP, TRS and BJP legislators at the ‘Telangana Mock Assembly' in Hyderabad on Monday. HYDERABAD: A mock session of Assembly which was attended by 28 MLAs from Telangana belonging to TDP, TRS and BJP here on Monday demanded the Central government to immediately introduce in the Parliament a bill granting Statehood to the region. The mock Assembly was held at a private function hall at Khairatabad with former Deputy Speaker K. Harishwar Reddy donning the role of ‘Speaker' in an event that was organised by the Telangana Journalists Forum (TJF). The Congress MLAs did not turn up though they were also invited. The proceedings were conducted in a friendly atmosphere barring an argument when TDP leader E. Dayakar Rao took objection to K.T. Rama Rao (TRS) disapproving of his proposal that candidates of all parties contest the next elections as independents backed by Telangana Joint Action Committee (JAC). Mr. Rama Rao sought to know how the MLAs of TDP in Telangana could be trusted as they allowed themselves to be controlled by their counterparts in coastal districts. Earlier, Mr. Dayakar Rao made no bones in saying that the candidates of TDP and Congress would lose the polls if they contested on their respective party tickets. The JAC had agreed to the proposal in by-elections last year but the TRS refused. If such independents alone won the next elections, Mr. Dayakar Rao said separate Telangana was guaranteed. Another TRS MLA Koppula Easwar took a dig at M. Narasimhulu (TDP) for his comment that the TDP MLAs were ready with their resignations to trigger a crisis and pave way for separate Telangana. If that was true, Mr. Easwar asked why they did not resign last year. The meeting also debated the circumstances leading to the destruction of statues on Tank Bund. The “Speaker” adjourned it sine die after reading out the resolution seeking bill on separate Telangana. Later, Mr. K.T. Rama Rao urged TJF to hold another session to see if Congress MLAs participated. If they did not attend, they would be declared as betrayers of Telangana.
