Six held, jewellery recovered

CUTTACK: In a major breakthrough, the city police on Monday claimed to have busted an ornament theft gang and arrested six persons, including two prime accused in connection with a theft incident that took place in a jewellery shop here earlier this month.

Police have recovered at least 11.731 kg of silver ornaments from the accused persons whose market price is pegged at Rs. 3.75 lakh. Police are also on the look out of another accused in this connection.

The arrested include Jitendra Sathua of Athagarh, Vikram Biswal of Ersama (principal accused), Vijay Gaikwad, Kanhu Pani, Hemant Pani and Gangadhar Pani (all from Boudh).
