FOR PEACE:Students holding candles as they pray for Japan's earthquake victims in front of the Gandhi Museum in Madurai on Monday. MADURAI: People from different walks of live, including students, joined together to observe a silent candle light vigil at Gandhi Museum here on Monday to mourn the deaths caused in Japan by earthquake and tsunami. The call for the vigil was given by a host of organisations, including Tamil Nadu Theological Seminary, Lady Doak College, Society for Integrated Rural Development, Society for Community Organisation Trust and People's Watch. The programme was also meant to denounce nuclearisation, saying that it was a “conspiracy by governments and policy-makers” to destroy planet earth.
