Air India sets up panel to probe fake pilot marksheet issue

Licences of over 4,000 pilots under the scanner

New Delhi: In the backdrop of the arrest of an Air India pilot for obtaining flying licence by allegedly forging marksheets, the state-owned carrier has set up a 3-member committee to scrutinise documents of qualifications of pilots.
Report soon
The committee will submit its report soon to the Air India Chief Vigilance Officer, sources in the airlines said on Monday.
The committee will include two Air India Executive Directors in charge of Operations and Industrial Relations.
The DGCA has already said the licences of 3,000 to 4,000 Air India pilots will be under the scanner, including the 1,700 licences issued in the last two years.
Police arrested Parminder Kaur Gulati (38) of Indigo airlines and Jitender Kishen Verma (46) of Air India in the last one week.
