Lawyer held in auto-theft cases

NEW DELHI: A 73-year-old lawyer has been arrested along with one of his accomplices for alleged involvement in several cases of auto-theft in the Capital. Nine stolen vehicles have allegedly been seized. The accused have been identified as Dhani Ram Mittal alias Puran Chand and Teja Singh. Dhani Ram, who has practiced law in Rohtak and Delhi, is allegedly involved in 89 criminal cases. Teja (50) has 20 criminal cases pending against him in Punjab Rajasthan and Delhi, the police said. Acting on a tip-off, a North-West Delhi Police laid a trap on Chautala Road in Dabwali on March 11 and arrested Dhani Ram and Teja. The in which they were travelling was found to be stolen from Rani Bagh, the police said.
