‘Vandana' award for Kadri Gopalnath

MANGALORE: Kadri Gopalnath, saxophonist, will be awarded the “Vandana Award” instituted by the Rotary Club of Mangalore Central and the Rotaract Club of Mangalore City here on March 18.

Herman Pereira, president, Rotary Club of Mangalore Central, said the award had been given to saxophonist for his pre-eminence in music. Earlier, recipients of the State-level award include music director Guru Kiran, who received the award last year and cricketer B.S. Chandrasekhar.

The award is a part of the club's vocational service projects. It would carry a silver plate and a gold coin.
