Seminar on leprosy

Bangalore: To create awareness about the human rights of leprosy affected people and their family members, International Leprosy Union – Health Alliance (ILU-HA) has organised a two-day seminar in the city.

The seminar that began on Wednesday at the Sumanahalli Leprosy Rehabilitation and Training Centre is aimed at building a pressure group to assist the Government for adopting a national policy to eliminate discrimination against people with leprosy and their family members.

Sessions to educate the participants about the guidelines for “elimination of discrimination against persons affected by leprosy” that was adopted by UN Human Rights Council were part of the seminar.
