VISAKHAPATNAM: In spite of a shortfall in power generation, no power cut is being imposed on industries, APEPDCL CMD Ahmad Nadeem has said. Efforts were on to improve supply though the situation was better this year compared to the last two years, he told a meeting of high tension (HT) consumers on Wednesday. EPDCL has been facing a shortage of 600 MW to 700 MW since March 8. The supply to industries might not suffer in future if the State got more liquefied natural gas from Reliance, he said. It might also help ease the power cut being imposed in mandal headquarters and rural areas during the day. Mr. Nadeem said that any interruption in supply was being informed to HT consumers in advance. Also, to prevent delay in delivery of power bills, they would be emailed, he said. Frequent meetings were being conducted with HT consumers to identify their problems, and suggestions were welcome, he stated. The consumers who attended from the five districts, under the EPDCL, expressed their happiness at the conduct of the meetings and wanted them to be held regularly. Directors Projects and Operations V. Suryanarayana and H.Y. Dora participated in the meeting.
