62 participants benefit from coaching

TIRUCHI: Sixty two candidates from the central and southern districts have benefited from the free coaching for aspirants of Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) by the Centre for Youth Development and Studies (CYDS), Bharathidasan University.

Candidates with degrees in Tamil, English, Economics, Social Work, Commerce, Business Administration, Physics, Botany and Engineering took part in the three-month programme that concluded on Wednesday. The beneficiaries were drawn from the districts of Tiruchi, Thanjavur, Nagapattinam, Pudukottai, Sivaganga, Dindigul, Karur and Villupuram, and initiated into the programme that had quiz, group discussion, tests and special lectures as main components. Twenty three invited resource persons handled a total of 121 sessions on thrust areas encompassing current affairs, general knowledge, language and numerical skills, logical reasoning, syllogism, and coding. S. Yusuf, retired English Professor, delivered the valedictory address. S. Iyyampillai, CYDS Coordinator and P. Natarajamurthy, Assistant Professor handed over certificates.
