APPEALING: Transforms, the art exhibition by students of RLV College of Music and FineArts, Tripunithura. KOCHI: Every work of art that has come up on exhibition in this show is an indicator of times to come. More than 50 paintings and 20 sculptures are on show at Trans Forms, the show organised by final year graduate and post-graduate students of RLV College of Music and Fine Arts. Though the degree show is a routine affair for fine arts colleges, the students of RLV College are trying to take this to another level of interaction. As part of the show, they are organising a get-together of all artists who had studied in the college. “This is for the first time such a get-together is being planned. The senior artists, who have passed out from this college, will come and share their experience with us,” said Anil Xavier, final year BFA student and convener of the programme. Similarly, the students could bring in senior artists, art critics and teachers from across the country. Among those who interacted with the students, since the show started on Monday, were Sudharshan Shetty, renowned sculptor and Anshuman Dasgupta, art history teacher at Santiniketan. Students are thrilled with the response their show has generated among art lovers. For No wonder, they all look forward to meeting their predecessors at the ‘Artists Meet' on Saturday. The show will end on Sunday with a panel discussion on contemporary art. Jayaram Poduval, teacher of art history at University of Baroda; Chandran G. Payyannur, architect; Binoj P.K. and Kavitha Balakrishnan, art critics, will be the panellists.
