BANGALORE: State champion I.H. Manudev and sub-junior National billiards champion Mundir Sherazi helped KSBA ‘A' down KSCA 2-0 and won the Indian Gymkhana-organised prize money inter-club handicap tournament at the Gymkhana hall here. The winner pocketed Rs. 20,000, while KSCA got Rs. 14000. The semifinalists earned Rs. 5000 each. Mundir Sherazi was adjudged ‘player of the tournament'. Srikantadutta Narasimharaja Wodeyar gave away the prizes. The results: KSBA ‘A' bt KSCA 2-0 (I.H. Manudev bt Kamlesh Punjabi 80-54; Mundir Sherazi bt Rajiv Duseja 100-51). Semifinals: KSBA ‘A' bt Vijayanagar Club 2–0 (Sajan Bopanna bt L. Nagaraj 53–46; Mundir Sherazi bt Pratik U 100- 44). KSCA bt KSBA ‘C' 2-0 (Kamlesh Punjabi bt Arjun A.R 82–67; Rajiv Duseja bt Amit Bhushan 101–12). MSRIT triumphs M.S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology (MSRIT) won the VTU inter-collegiate cricket tournament defeating BVBCET (Hubli) by seven wickets at the SIT (Tumkur) grounds on Sunday. BVBCET batting first was bowled out for 194 in 44.5 overs and in reply MSRIT reached the target in 42 overs losing just three wickets in the process with Dabeet (89) and Murari (56 n.o.) doing the bulk of the scoring. The scores: BVBCET 194 in 44.5 overs (Ramdas 44, Sandesh three for 34, Dabeet three for 39) lost to MSRIT 198 for three in 42 overs (Dabeet 89, Murari 56 n.o.) . Body building trials The selection trials for the State team, which is to represent at the Senior National body building championships in Delhi later this month, will be conducted on Wednesday at the M.S. Ramaiah College of Arts and Science in Bangalore. Trials will be held in 55, 60, 65, 70, 75, 80, 85, 90, and Over 90 kg categories. Trials for handicapped body builders will be held in two categories (under 70 and over 70 kg). Call Bette Gowda on 9845697584. Archery camp An archery camp, organised by the Government of Karnataka and the State archery association, will be held on March 20 at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium.
