MP's plea to Prime Minister

Staff Reporter

SRIKAKULAM: Congress MP Killi Kruparani said on Friday that she had requested the Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh, to announce a special package for Srikakulam district, which was backward in all aspects.

In a press release, Ms. Kruparani said she had submitted a detailed memorandum to him seeking his attention for the development of the district. According to her, the district required more funds under Naxal-affected area scheme. The district witnessed little progress in the last four decades.

She has also urged the Prime Minister to provide funds for the treatment of K. Ramamurthy who had been suffering from transverse myelitis, a chronic disease. The patient, resident of Aludu village of Sarvakota mandal, could not get relief even after spending Rs.7 lakh for the treatment, she said.
