WARANGAL: Students of National Institute of Technology (NIT) have created a world record by making the world's largest foot print painting during their recent silver jubilee edition of Spring Spree festival.

Good response

The previous record stood at 9,206 sq. feet. The students surpassed it and created a painting of 10,592 sq. feet. As the event progressed, it received good response from the participants of Spring Spree.

The total footfall for the event turned out to be around 3,000 participants.

The event was inaugurated with the first foot imprints from K. Sreemannarayanna, in-charge director, NIT Warangal, and Radhkrishnamachraya, Dean, student affairs, and Rajesh Kumar, Spring Spree staff advisor.

The new format of making a painting from foot imprints turned out to be quite exciting for the participants.

All students from NIT as well as those who had come from outside showed great enthusiasm and participated in large numbers.

World Cup mascot

This largest foot print painting was created with colourful footprints of around 3,000 people in the shape of the ICC cricket World Cup mascot ‘Stumpy' and was aimed at motivating and encouraging the Indian cricket team for this year's World Cup. The total area is 10,592 sq feet which is about a billion mm2.

This symbolized Indian population and their united wish for India to win the world cup this year.
