Vishnuvardhan to lead challenge

KOLKATA: Davis Cupper J. Vishnuvardhan is expected to lead the Indian challenge in the $15,000 ITF men's Futures tournament to be hosted by the South Club here from March 21. Vishnuvardhan (367) is the highest-ranked player among the Indian entries.

Adam Kellner of Hungary, ranked 337, is likely to get the top billing.

Yuki Bhambri, V.M. Ranjeet, Rohan Gajjar, Rupesh Roy and Vijay Sundar Prashanth are the others who have got a direct entry into the main draw.

The four Indians named for the main draw wildcards are National grass court champion A.S. Suresh Krishna, Divij Sharan, Chandril Sood and B. Balajee. The singles winner and runner-up will get 27 and 15 ITF points apart from a prize purse of $1950 and $1350. The final will be held on March 26. — Principal Correspondent
