A book on brave women
Special Correspondent
Bangalore: Two young writers, Prasanna Karthik S. and Anil Kumar K., have put together short profiles of 36 women of India who have made a difference to society around them, many of them playing a significant role in the freedom movement.
The slim booklet, titled Bharatada Chirasmaraneeya Veera Vanitheyaru, profiles women from varied backgrounds, ranging from well-known names like Jhansi Rani Lakshmi Bai and Kamaladevi Chattopadhyaya to lesser known ones like Umabai Kundaapura and Balyachanda Muddamma.
The book is being released on Sunday by Law Minister Suresh Kumar at Hoyasala Karnataka Sangha Students' Hostel at 10 a.m.
