Special Correspondent
NEW DELHI: Delhi Revenue Minister A.K. Walia said on Friday that the Delhi Government was planning to set up a high-level committee to decide on the regularisation of the extended area of villages in the Capital city.
Replying to a private member's resolution moved by Balram Tanwar of the Congress, Dr. Walia said the Government is also keen to provide all civic amenities in extended area of the villages.
Mr. Tanwar had urged that the extended area of villages be regularised and all the civic amenities be provided therein. He had also sought regularisation of houses built by farmers on agricultural land.
Dr. Walia said the Government has already initiated the process of regularisation of those 146 unauthorised colonies which came up on extended lal dora in the villages. To consider all aspects of the issue, he said the high-level committee would have representation from the Revenue, Development and Urban Development departments.
The committee will be asked to consider the issue in detail and come out with a feasible solution.
