Sirsi: A three-day Bharat Nirman Public Information Campaign (PIC) organised by the Press Information Bureau, Bangalore, in association with other media units of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and the Uttar Kannada district administration and the zilla panchayat, would be inaugurated by Union Minister of State for Railways K.H. Muniyappa on Sunday at 10 a.m. at the municipal grounds here. Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri, Minister for Primary and Secondary Education and Uttara Kannada district in-charge, would inaugurate the photo exhibition and exhibition stalls.Kanara MP Ananthkumar Hegde would preside over the function.Addressing presspersons at the venue on Saturday, M.V.V.S. Murthy, Additional Director-General, Press Information Bureau (PIB), Hyderabad, said that the PIC would have theme- based workshops . It would highlight programmes on NABARD, National Rural Health Mission, Ornamental Fishery, MGNREGA, Agriculture and Horticulture, he said. The target audience would be beneficiaries and potential beneficiaries of various schemes, Mr. Murthy said. Since 2006, 16 PICs were organised in various parts of Karnataka and the 17th one would be in Sirsi, Mr. Murthy said. Pallavi Chinnya, Deputy Director of Press Information Bureau, Bangalore, was present.
