Woman conned in Villupuram

VILLUPURAM: Two persons posing as CID personnel relieved Kuppammal (54) of Tindivanam of a gold chain weighing 15 sovereigns. The police sources said that in her complaint Ms Kuppammal said two strangers approached her, identifying themselves as CID police, and told her that it was not safe to wear gold chain in the open and offered to put her jewellery safely in her bag. After they left the place she found the gold chain missing.
