Rs. 10 lakh seized from businessman

KRISHNAGIRI: A special squad of the Election Commission of India intercepted a vehicle near Oppathavadi Koot Road at National Highway No. 46 near Anginayanapalli village and seized Rs. 10 lakh from a businessman hailing from Bangalore on Saturday.
The team checked the vehicle of M. Srinivasan who was travelling from Chennai to Bangalore with the cash. He had told the police that he was taking the amount to Bangalore for construction purpose. The amount was deposited in the Sub-Treasury at Krishnagiri on Monday as Mr. Srinivasan failed to provide proof, the police sources said.
