HYDERABAD: In line with the assurances given to the Telangana Joint Action Committee of Employees, Teachers and Workers during the recent talks to end their non-cooperation agitation, the government issued two important orders on Monday for punishing officers found guilty of deliberately violating the Presidential Order. Both orders have been issued in the name of the Chief Secretary S.V. Prasad. Identification Through one order, the government directed its administrative secretaries in the Secretariat, heads of departments and offices to “identify the officers who deliberately violated the provisions of the AP Public Employment (Organisation of Local Cadres and Regulation of Direct Recruitment) Order, 1975 (Presidential Order) for being punished”. It said that the appropriate disciplinary authority in each department/office should initiate disciplinary proceedings against such officers whose action deprived local candidates of their employment opportunities under the Presidential Order, duly following the existing rules. Reviewing action Through the second order, the government constituted an Implementation & Monitoring Authority (IMA) headed by the Chief Secretary and comprising four other officials as members to review the action taken against the guilty by meeting once in two months. The members are special chief secretary, Finance; secretary, Law; principal secretary, Administrative Department; and secretary in-charge of implementation of GO No 610. The order provided for interaction by IMA with service organisations of employees.
