Kochi: The Kerala High Court on Tuesday made absolute its interim order directing the police to provide protection to Riyana R .Khasi, a Muslim woman in Kasaragod, who has received threats for not following the Islamic dress code.
A Division Bench, comprising Justice R. Basant and Justice K. Surendra Mohan, made the interim order absolute when a writ petition filed by Ms. Riyana came up for hearing again. The court had also ordered police protection to her parents and two siblings. According to her petition, some of her relatives, neighbours and an Islamic outfit had threatened her with dire consequences.
