‘State Government doing its best to provide clean drinking water' Mysore: Jagadish Shettar, Minister for Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, on Tuesday indicated that a serious ‘water war' could occur in the future, which ought to be avoided at any cost. His observations came on the occasion of World Water Day. He was speaking to presspersons before attending a programme in which presidents of zilla panchayats were trained in various aspects of administration at the Abdul Nazir Sab State Institute of Rural Development here. Conflicts over water could arise in the coming days, including sharing of water resources between different parties, Mr. Shettar said. However, disputes would have to be solved amicably. The State Government was doing its best to provide clean drinking water to the people. People should prevent wastage of the precious resource, Mr. Shettar said.
