Namakkal: Petrol bomb was hurled at the house of Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) nominee for the Tiruchengode Assembly constituency P. Sampath Kumar on Tuesday night.
According to the police, unidentified men, who came in a Maruti car, threw the bomb at the house situated on Mohanur Road and escaped.
The DMDK candidate was not at his house. He was returning from Chennai and was expected only in the morning.
His wife Parameshwari and children were at the house when the incident occurred. Since the door was closed none was injured.
Only the window panes and furniture on the veranda were damaged. Senior police officials rushed to the spot. Police security has been provided to the house. The police have registered a case and are on the look out for the miscreants.
