Sharma downs Melzer

KOLKATA: Unseeded Kaza Vinayak Sharma of India showed fine control and temperament on clay to down fourth seed Gerald Melzer of Austria in straight sets in the men's singles first round of the ITF Futures tennis tournament at the South Club, here on Tuesday.

Sixth seed Yuki Bhambri of India entered the pre-quarterfinals defeating Sahr Timothy Kpulun of Slovenia.
