69 nominations filed for bypolls to Assembly

Bangalore: Sixty-nine nominations have been received for the byelections from three Assembly constituencies to be held on April 9. Wednesday was the last day for filing nominations.

C.P. Yogeshwar of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Raghunandana Ramanna of the Congress and Sim Lim Nagaraj of the Janata Dal (Secular) have filed their nominations from Channapatna. Nineteen candidates have filed 30 nominations for the seat.

S.V. Ramachandra of the BJP, Devendrappa of the Congress and H. Manjunath of the JD(S) have filed their papers from Jagalur (ST) constituency in Chitradurga district. Eighteen nominations have been filed in all.

BJP candidate M. Narayanaswamy, K.M. Narayanaswamy of the Congress and C. Venkateshappa of the JD(S) have filed their nominations from Bangarpet (SC) constituency for which 21 nominations have been received in all.
