Plea against allotment of Murasu symbol

MADURAI: Proprietor of a knitwear unit in Tirupur has filed a writ petition in the Madras High Court Bench here against allotment of Murasu/Nagara symbol to any political party or independent candidate contesting the ensuing Assembly elections. The petitioner, S. Muralimohan of Madurai, said that he was manufacturing garments with the logo of Murasu. He apprehended that the police might take action against his unit and harass him unnecessarily if the symbol was allotted as an election symbol.
