35 file papers in Thiruvananthapuram district

Congress leader K. Muraleedharan filing his nomination papers for the Vattiyurkavu constituency in Thiruvananthapuram on Thursday.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Thirty-five nominations were filed in the district on Thursday, the fifth day of filing nominations.

The prominent among those who filed the nominations were K. Muraleedheeran (Congress) in Vattiyurkavu Assembly constituency, G. Karthikeyan (Congress) in Aruvikkara, O. Rajgopal (BJP) in Nemom, V. S. Sivakumar (Congress) and B.K. Shekar (BJP) in Thiruvananthapuram Assembly constituency.

In Neyattinkara Assembly constituency, Thampanoor Ravi (Congress) and R. Selvaraj (CPI-M) and Sreekumaran Nair of the BJP filed their nominations. In Vamanapuram, Mohanachandran (Congress), Sasi (BSP), Sivaprasad (BJP) filed their nominations. Bhuvanachandran Chettiar (BSP) and K. Ajith Kumar (Independent) filed their nominations in Kazhakuttom.

Palode Ravi (Congress) filed his nomination in the Nedumangad Assembly constituency, Charupara Ravi Socialist Janata (Democratic) in Nemom and N. Shaktan (Congress) in Kattakada Assembly constituency.

V. Sasi and B. Manoj of the CPI and K. Vidyadharan of the Congress filed their nominations in Chirayinkeezhu, Satheesan (BJP) in Varkala, George (Congress) and S. Suresh (BJP) in Parassala and George Mercier (Congress), S. Rajendran (DPSP) and Subashithan (Independent) in the Kovalam Assembly constituency.

The District Collector, who is also the District Election Officer, has convened a meeting of cable TV operators on March 25 to discuss the rules they have to follow. The meeting will be held at the conference hall of the Collectorate at Kudapanakunnu at 11 a.m.

The venue of the March 28 training for officials posted on polling duty has been shifted from the District Panchayat Hall in Pattom to the Priyadarshini Hall at East Fort.

There is no change in the date and timings.
