Thrissur
Thrissur: A total of 21 candidates representing various political parties filed nominations for the Assembly elections in the district on Thursday. Those who submitted their nominations include Congress candidates K.B. Sasikumar (Chelakkara); C.N. Balakrishnan (Wadakkanchery); T.N. Prathapan (Kodungalloor) and Therambil Ramakrishnan (Thrissur). Kerala Congress (M) candidate Thomas Unniyadan (Irinjalakuda) also filed his nomination. Geetha Gopi (Nattika) and P. Balachandran (Thrissur) are the CPI candidates who filed nominations on Thursday. BJP candidates Sunder Rajan (Ollur); Sudhir Baby (Chalakudy); A.R. Vijayan ( Kodunagalloor); Ravikumar (Thrissur); and Gopinadhan (Manalur) and Independent candidate P.J. Monsy (Manalur) also filed papers. Kottayam The number of candidates in the fray in the district rose to 36 with 21 more candidates filing their nominations on Thursday. Candidates including Thiruvanchoor Radhkrishnan (Congress-I); Thomas Chazhikkadan, Mons Joseph, C.F. Thomas and N. Jayaraj (all Kerala congress-M); B. Vijayakumar, Bijukumar, Gopakumar, N.K. Narayanan Namboodiri, P. Sunil Kumar, M. Rajagopal and Rajmohan (all BJP); Mani C. Kappan (NCP) and Stephen George (Left Independent).
